서부 림피오르드의 경골어류 화석 지역을 유네스코 세계자연유산으로 지정하려는 덴마크의 신청은 2026년 7월에 성공적으로 완료되었습니다. 세계기구의 독일 위원회는 웹사이트에서 이 신규 등재지를 다음과 같이 소개합니다. „북부 유틀란드의 서부 림피오르드 절벽 해안에는 예외적으로 잘 보존된 화석들이 현대 경골어류의 초기 발달 단계를 보여줍니다. 이 발견물들은 마지막 대량 멸종 직후의 시대로 거슬러 올라갑니다. 이 화석들은 5천 5백만 년 전의 급격한 기후 온난화, 소위 팔레오세/에오세 온도 최대기, 그리고 그 뒤를 이은 더 서늘한 시기 동안 생명체가 어떻게 변화했는지를 보여줍니다. 행클리트(Hanklit)와 크누데클린트(Knudeklint) 해안은 해양 생태계의 초기 발달과 진화 및 기후 변화의 연관성에 대한 세계적으로 독특한 증거로 간주됩니다.“

Spøttrup Castle is worth seeing.

Great view of the moated castle Spottrop with its ramparts. A tour there with a visit to the castle is definitely worthwhile, which I have documented in a separate tour.

Nice to drive, nice view

The break-off edges provide unique views of 50 million years of geological history. It's nice if you know what you are seeing here or if you have someone who is familiar with it. And the insights are also constantly changing.

Picturesque little marina in Glyngøre with beautiful views of the Limfjord. Here at the harbor there is also the tourist information office at Limfjordens Hus. The port of Glyngøre is popularly known as "Little Skagen". Whatever the weather, the port remains completely calm. The area around the harbor is very beautiful with the community house "Æ Kassehus", the small lighthouse on the tip of the headland and the old ferry port. The Limfjordens Hus restaurant opened in 2011 and was built right on the shore with a view of the Sallingsund Bridge. The Glyngøre Kulturstation museum in the old train station has a permanent exhibition on fishing in the Limfjord in the 20th century. Very well done with the gate and the wildlife barrier with solar and wind turbines - really great The regular path ends here on the beach. I walked the path along the cliff here. There are no prohibition signs etc. at the gate here - I then walked back this way later and to shorten it, I then went cross-country back to the cliff However, there is a small fence on the cliff (just a wire and not a real obstacle) - more for the animals - and also prohibition signs. Now I know too - unfortunately I hadn't seen/noticed it on the way there, but you should definitely take it into account. An impressive, very beautiful and lonely tour through nature. I didn't meet a single soul on my hike here.
