The castle later served as the summer residence of the "Swiss King" Pfyffer von Altishofen. From 1647 to 1822 the castle was owned by the Schnyder von Wartensee. The talented musician and composer Xaver Schnyder von Wartensee sold it to his tenant family. The castle has been owned by the Rösli family since September 1st, 1888. In 1993 the castle was completely renovated and now shines in new splendor. Today, the Wartensee Castle serves primarily as a place of rest, meeting and contemplation.
