Lake Matemale with its beautiful beaches is located at an altitude of 1500 metres and therefore the water is between 19 and 23°.

At Estany del Castellar you will discover a tranquil alpine lake, surrounded by rugged peaks and lush green meadows. The crystal clear waters are reflected in the mountains, creating a picture-perfect scene. The Estany del Castellar area is also known for its rich biodiversity, so keep an eye out for native wildlife such as marmots and ibex. This lake is an interesting destination for hikers and nature lovers.

Beautiful local recreation area with kiosk and small shady forest

Carlit Peak is part of the Capcir granite massif, which is dotted with 27 lakes and small lakes in the Occitania region, northwest of Font-Romeu. Its summit is located at 2921 meters, allowing you to observe an immense panorama (from Canigó to the Central Pyrenees).

This small pond is one of the corners of paradise hidden here and there in the mountains. Come closer, sit down and take the time to observe the wildlife and the landscape. It is ideally located for a break before starting the ascent to the Canigou peak.
