The "Parc de la Gare d'Eau" offers visitors an attractive setting between green spaces and water areas. Protected by the ramparts and overlooked by the citadel, the promenade combines calm and beautiful landscapes. Redesigned in the 1970s, the Parc de la Gare d'Eau, which extends along the banks of the Doubs, almost disappeared between the buildings of Vauban and the projects for the administrative city. Thankfully, it was saved and today invites you to stroll and hosts cultural events, including the Mots Doubs and the Doubs Eté. The lake is 6.3 km long and 800m wide, making it the fourth largest natural lake in France. In winter it freezes. By constructing a dam on the north side, it helps regulate the water of the Doubs.
