Bronnoysund is a town in the municipality of Brønnøy in the county of Nordland, Norway. A sign in the town center indicates the town's location in the center of Norway. The distance to the North Cape and the Lindesnes Lighthouse (considered the southernmost point of the country) is 840 km.

The Brønnøysund Bridge (Brønnøysundbrua) is a 550-meter-long, cantilevered concrete bridge that has connected the Norwegian island of Torget with the mainland at Brønnøysund since 1979. With a maximum clearance of 30 meters, it allows ships to pass through and is an important part of the Norwegian road network. Visitors appreciate the bridge not only as a means of transportation, but also for its architecture and the beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, including the famous Torghatten mountain on the island of Torget.

In the town center of Bronnoysund lies Brønnøy Church, a stone church in the Neo-Gothic style dating from 1870. Parts of the chancel and entrance walls date back to the Middle Ages. The church's oldest artifact is a pre-Reformation wooden crucifix.

Brønnøysund lies on a narrow peninsula on the mainland, surrounded by islands and water. Here, you find yourself in the heart of Norway. The small coastal town, with its 5,000 inhabitants, surrounds the narrow but strategically located harbor, where trade and fishing are conducted.

It is possible to go up and down via the van. The circular route is in impeccable condition. Sturdy shoes are recommended for the rough natural stone steps.

The hiking trail around the Torghatten is easy and gentle. The path to the big hole is a bit strenuous but easy to pass. The path over the Torghatten is extremely difficult and requires alpine experience, surefootedness and a head for heights. Only some of the climbing routes are secured with chains.
