Kaltentalweiher 습지는 1976년 자연 보호의 해에 바덴뷔르템베르크 주 산림청이 '유럽 습지 보호' 프로그램을 위해 구상하고 1977-79년에 조성되었습니다. 길쭉한 타원형의 습지는 자연스러운 만으로 계곡에 조화롭게 통합됩니다. 주 댐조차도 완만한 경사면에 너무 능숙하게 숨겨져 있어 자연 풍경을 방해하지 않습니다. 연못은 길이가 약 300미터, 너비가 80미터입니다. 작은 섬을 제외하면 수면은 약 1.1헥타르입니다. 많은 희귀 동물 종들이 습지에 서식하게 되었습니다. 동물학 및 생물학에 관심 있는 사람들에게 훌륭한 관찰 지역이 되었습니다. 큰 연못 뒤에는 작은 연못이 하나 더 있으며, Kaltentalbach가 큰 연못으로 흘러 들어갑니다. Kaltentalbach는 카르스트 샘인 Kaltentalquelle에서 발원합니다.

Nice location for everyone who is looking for a quiet and uncrowded place. The restaurant at the front near the power plant is recommended. The lower storage basin cannot be completely circumnavigated on a bike path, but rather it goes off-road. Anyone interested in the important generation of energy or the provision of control energy (balancing energy in the event of an impending shortage or absorbing load peaks) is recommended to check out the information boards at the front of the hiking trail or take a tour of the power plant, which was once built by the Neckarwerke Stuttgart and is now run by EnBW Energy Baden-Württemberg is operated.
