Furthermore, according to the Gospels, Mary Magdalene is one of the three women who, after the crucifixion and burial of Jesus Christ, wanted to anoint his body on Easter morning after the Sabbath, and she was the very first person to encounter the Risen Christ. In theology, she is therefore also called the "Apostle to the Apostles." The feast day of Saint Mary Magdalene in the liturgical calendar is July 22.
