Small lake, idyllically situated in the middle of the forest. Steep approach through the forest on gravel, also doable with a trekking bike. Possibility to stop for refreshments at the lake, perfect!

The lake is located in the middle of a forest in the protected area of Monticolo. Stop for a moment in this oasis along the South Tyrolean Wine Road to take a break and take some nice photos. The Great Lake of Monticolo is located in a largely wooded valley of Monte di Mezzo and is about 700 meters long, the width of the lake varies between 200 and 300 meters.

When it's hot and the sun is shining, don't forget to wear a hat, there is little to no shade up there. Very nice to look at, a very special place.
