The parking lot is located right next to Huka Falls. Hiking trails and designated cycling routes also start from here. We found that it's worth getting there early. Tour buses arrive around midday, and it quickly becomes crowded and confusing.

The spectacle of these tumultuous waters passing from a waterfall to a narrow gorge is quite striking. It is easy to measure the force generated at this location by the Waikato River. It feeds Lake Taupo a few kilometers further on. Many tourist facilities are on site, allowing as many people as possible to admire these Huka Falls.
