The square is surrounded by shops and cafés, and on market days you’ll find everything from berries to baked goods. It’s also a good starting point for exploring Kotka’s nearby parks and waterfront areas. Bicycle parking is available, and the flat terrain makes access easy.

Mansikkalahti Beach is a popular seaside spot in Kotka, located close to the city centre and easily accessible by bike. It offers a sandy shoreline, calm waters, and basic facilities, making it a great place to relax after a ride. The area is suitable for swimming, sunbathing, and light beach activities, and there's a nearby playground for families. It's also a good starting point for exploring the surrounding coastal parks and trails. The beach is part of the wider Katariina area, so it's easy to combine with a visit to Katariina Seaside Park.

After a short climb you have a wonderful view over the city. Closed on Monday.

Kotka Church is a red brick church built between 1897 and 1898 and seats 1,500. The benches are a bit narrow so it's difficult to sit there for a long time. But the magnificent church in the center of Kotka is worth a look when it's open and you can enter.
