The Sagori region is known for its stone bridges. The Kalogerikō-Plakīdas Bridge (Γεφύρι Καλογερικό Πλακίδα) with its three curved arches is probably the most famous of these. It was built in 1814 to replace a previous wooden structure at the instigation of Abbot Seraphim of the Elias Monastery in Vītsa (Kalogerikō refers to the monastery). In 1865, extensive repairs were required, which were financed by Alēxis and Andrēas Plakīdas (Αλέξιος και Ανδρέας Πλακίδας). Since then, the double name has been in use.

On hot days it is wonderful to enter the coolness of the gorge via the water. Make sure you have good, non-slip shoes that you can use to enter the water and take a waterproof pouch for your phone. You can buy it on the spot. If you walk to the end, you must take into account that you have to wade/swim through the water (depending on your height) and that it is not always possible with a backpack. In spring and autumn this will be too cold through water. What was striking was that the water was very cold at the start, but further on in the gorge the temperature was more pleasant. Kīpi / Κήποι is a particularly good place to stay overnight when hiking through the Sagōri region. There are a number of attractive hotels and places to stop for refreshments here. A small supermarket has all the necessary things and is open until the evening.
