Built in 1651 by Francois Mansart, the chateau first belonged to the Longueuil family, who were associated French Parlement court. In 1777, the castle passed to King Louis XVI's brother, Comte d'Artois before being confiscated during the French Revolution in 1798. In 1905, the French state bought the castle to save it from demolition. The castle is now open to visitors from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm. Tickets cost €8 for adults.
