Steep narrow path through the forest over roots, rocks etc. Crisp to walk on but the waterfall is nice. We had a little bit of water, but it was still a very nice place to take a break.

spectacular architect's house on Ossiacher See, construction time 31 years

Domenig's stone house: The Carinthian star architect Günther Domenig set new accents with his stone house on Lake Ossiach. The stone house looks like an independent, bizarre landscape made of stone, glass and concrete. For 31 years, Domenig assembled various cubes, acute angles, pyramids and crystalline elements into a house structure. The motifs of his architecture are the landscape, mountain and rock formations of the Carinthian mountains, their regional architecture and the symbol of the hand. He never lived in it, but wanted to push forms and building materials to their physical limits). The property once belonged to the grandmother of the Domenig brothers. She came from a rich family of manufacturers. Together with the start-up capital, she bequeathed the property to the two twin brothers. The Domenig brothers planned to build a house on this property. In 1982 the first part of the construction project (the footbridge) was completed. After the twin brother Günter Domenigs injured himself while using it, he dropped out of the building project. From 1986, today's “stone house” was built. The building is heated by electricity through invisible roof and wall heating. The house can only be visited during the summer months and serves as a workshop for architecture, seminars and workshops as well as cultural events are held.
