The trails here are beautiful. However, the paths are often barely visible or even nonexistent. Orientation is difficult and, in poor visibility, almost impossible without a smartphone or similar device.

Info at: https://www.berggasthaus-petersberg.de/ It's closed on Fridays, but there is a fridge with drinks for hikers - a trustworthy cash register. Great, friendly landlady - despite it being a day off, I was able to order cake and cappuccino. The cake was still warm - great service and a very friendly landlady.

The large Fischbach quarry is truly impressive. You can easily access it via the forest road at the top, but you should be careful, the cliffs are very high and you can slip through loose rock.
