Fiordland National Park has two entrances, from Te Anau. This bridge is one of them. Be careful, once you have passed it, it is absolutely necessary that you have your entry permit. Controls take place in the national parks (and they are essential for you to book in the refuges). From this bridge you can enjoy a beautiful view of Te Anau Lake.

With a surface of 344 km², it is the second largest lake in the country after Lake Taupo and the largest lake in the South Island before Lake Wakatipu. Sometimes it is up to 270m deep. The visit is free and you can see some typical native birds; unfortunately no kiwis! Unfortunately, the cage bars prevent unclouded observation. All the birds presented there were found injured or sick.
