With 80 beds, Snøheim is a large DNT facility, providing a base for those exploring Snøhetta and Dovrefjell–Sunndalsfjella’s other high mountains, with ten peaks over 2,000 metres (6,500 ft) within reasonable hiking distance. A shuttle bus runs from Snøheim to Hjerkinn several times a day during the peak season.

Nestled in Stroplsjødalen, Reinheim dates back to 1961 and is a popular basecamp for adventures to Snøhetta, the highest mountain in Norway outside Jotunheimen. The facility has a total of 34 beds. It's located in one of Norway's wild reindeer regions so keep your eyes out and show consideration.

Snøheim is the DNT cabin that provides access to Snøhetta, Norway's highest summit outside of the Jotunheimen region. You can get to Snøheim via a shuttle bus from Hjerkinn.

A very well-kept, beautiful accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen and kiosk for the most necessary things, such as chocolate ;-)

A nice, but somewhat expensive place to stay. The food is fine, but also rather expensive. If you like seeing goblins, there are plenty of options here ;-)

Reinheim is a nice DNT-cabin. Here you can sleep, buy and cook food. There is a big chance of seeing musk here.

After the climb, there is a phenomenal view of the mountains up here. At the viewpoint there is a small exhibition with stuffed animals and rustic wooden benches and if a guide is present, you will receive valuable tips on the whereabouts of the musk oxen and possible hikes. A hike into the mountains from this viewpoint should not be undertaken if possible to protect the reindeer and musk oxen! Therefore, no more paths are marked from here. But you should not miss the short climb from here to Tverrfjellet on the right!
