A beloved escape just outside Oslo, flat, family-friendly path circling the lake with benches, swim spots, and peaceful pine forest all around.

A quiet bridge with a splendid view over the still waters of Lake Skjærsjøen. From here, you can admire the peaceful lake framed by dense forest, with the red boathouse adding a touch of charm.

Lysakerelva is a gorgeous river that separates Oslo from Bærum. It provides the option of a nice out and back from the city, or a run here can be combined with nearby Bogstadvannet.

Runs along the beautiful Lysakerelva are wonderfully varied. As well as bridge crossings and gorgeous cascades, there's also sections like this, where the trail has to find a way under transport infrastructure.

An early highlight on any run along Lysakerelva, Granfoss is one of quite a few cascades you'll see along the river. If heading north, the run changes character here, leaving the paved surfaces behind and heading for more rugged trails.
