The Eagle Nature Preserve is a beautiful green space and nature preserve at Central Texas College. There are several hiking trails that take you through the park.

Salado is a small Texas town with a population of around 3,000 in the rolling hills of Bell County. The town has a great art scene and plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers created Stillhouse Hollow Lake, which sits on the Lampasas River. The lake is mostly known for its fishing. It is stocked with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, catfish, and crappie.

The Lampasas River looks beautiful from the Dana Peak Park. Interestingly, the river is the northernmost and westernmost in the range of the American Alligator. A steep trail leads to the top of Dana Peak, a lovely viewpoint for the surrounding Dana Peak Park. Sturdy hiking footwear is highly recommended as there is some loose rock on the ascent.
