Como's lakefront is perfect for a stroll amid history, villas, and nature. Along the way, besides the views of the hills reflected in the Lario with moored boats, there are historic villas and monuments that punctuate Como's history. The lakefront also features numerous benches where you can sit and admire this enchanting panorama.

The Lino Gelpi pedestrian promenade, which offers exciting panoramic views of Lake Como as well as a privileged view of the numerous neoclassical villas along its path, is the product of a beautiful history of city politics. It was in fact created in 1959 thanks to the will of the then mayor of Como Lino Gelpi, in office from 1956 to 1970, who had the audacity to challenge the landowners in the name of public good.

The fauna is typically aquatic: red frogs and toads come every year to reproduce and for some years there have also been one or two pairs of mallards.

Walking along the LP/847 path from Beregazzo in the direction of Appiano Gentile, after passing the Ca' Bianca farmhouse, you come across the pond of the same name on the left. To observe it better, it is best to turn left onto path 846, which partly runs along its banks. The Ca' Bianca pond, among the largest in the Pineta Park, is home to a rich population of water lilies, which bloom beautifully in summer. Along the banks, on the northernmost side, cattails and other aquatic plants also grow.
