From Poggio delle Ignude, there is no longer a path that leads directly from the summit to the Portafranca refuge; currently a feat, with a 35% descent on terrain full of unstable debris.

More than a single peak, Libro Aperto is a small mountain group made up of two peaks: Mounts Rotondo and Belvedere, both around 1,900 meters above sea level. Seen from the Lima stream, these two peaks resemble an open book, and that's where the name comes from. Here the Apennine ridge separates the provinces of Modena and Pistoia.

Very kind even if we stopped only for a coffee and they were having lunch they did not hesitate to serve us. Thank you, place with magnificent terrace, weather permitting of course!

Monte Spigolino is recognizable by its sharp shape

Excellent starting point for many of the surrounding trails. It is not always reachable by car, but you can always park at Capanna Tassoni or Budale and continue on foot. There is also a monument to the Alpine troops nearby

A well-known place, beautiful but perhaps too "commercial" due to its proximity to Abetone, around there are no less beautiful and more natural peaks!
