The mountain bike tour leads from Villach through the Ossiacher Tauern mountains along secondary roads, cycle paths, and forest trails, offering many wonderful views of the lake and the Landskron Castle ruins. The tour is well signposted and only moderately challenging! From the Tauern Teich, you can head either towards Köstenberg or towards Lake Ossiach!

The English Tower, by the way, is named after the British occupiers who built it as a new solar observatory after World War II. The British expected better conditions for solar observation at the summit and also used the tower as a radio station for a time.

Challenging climb, absolutely not suitable for children and/or dogs. Extremely boring return, dirt road with no view.

The broadcasting tower marked as a “German broadcasting tower” is actually called an “English broadcasting tower”. This can be found in the location name on the antenna system warning sign, which in turn can be found directly at the entrance.
