Encompassing 2,981 acres, the park is centered around the 720-acre Yellow Creek Lake. Hiking and biking trails wind through the woods, providing opportunities for nature enthusiasts to explore. The park's history is rich, as it follows the path of the old Kittanning Path, once used by Native Americans and early settlers. Spanning 720 acres, this man-made lake offers a haven for boaters and anglers alike. Its waters teem with a variety of fish species, making it a popular spot for casting a line. Beyond the fishing, the lake provides opportunities for swimming and relaxation on its sandy beach. Interestingly, the lake's name originates from the yellow clay found in the banks and bottoms of the nearby Yellow and Little Yellow Creeks.

This 16-acre park is situated adjacent to the Conemaugh Dam and features significant remnants of the Pennsylvania Mainline Canal and the Pennsylvania Railroad. You can explore the ruins of the canal, including a 900-foot section that once carried boats through the rugged Allegheny Mountains. The park also showcases various railroad structures, such as a stone arch bridge that miraculously survived the devastating 1936 Johnstown Flood.

State Game Land (SGL) 328 encompasses nearly 517 acres within Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, situated just a mile north of Tunnelton along Tunnelton Road. It also borders the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Conemaugh Flood Control lands. The terrain predominantly consists of undulating hills, with notable features such as a steep bank adjacent to a westward-flowing unnamed tributary and a former area used for rock mining. This is a good turn around spot as the terrain inside SGL 328 can be rough to ride with a road bike. However, the rough terrain lasts for about 1.7 miles, If you're up for the challenge you can keep going.
