Very pretty 11th century church with its polychrome interior decoration and its bell tower located above the choir. It has a modern nave and an old choir. The dark and too narrow nave was replaced in 1837 by the current nave and its aisles.

Superb abbey church with a splendid glazed tile roof. The interior, of enormous proportions, is quite sober. You have to take the time to walk around the building and cross the small village.

From the avenue de Verdun which crosses the Roanne to Digoin canal, enjoy a beautiful view of the port of Briennon which was once an industrial site. Today, the port has been developed for yachting. It is located on the Roanne to Digoin canal, very close to the Loire.

Founded in 1138, the royal abbey was a great spiritual center in full Cluniac territory. In Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque style, the church can be visited free of charge all year round, but the visit to the bell tower is subject to a charge. It houses a permanent exhibition that will reveal the hidden treasures of the abbey.
