The fort is located on the coast, between the port of Mourillon and Anse des Vignettes. It was built under the orders of Vauban and helped prevent the invasion of Provence and Toulon at the very beginning of the 18th century.

Balaguier Fort is one of the three main defensive buildings in Toulon harbor, built in the 17th century. The monument is now decorated with a botanical garden and houses a naval museum whose exhibitions are mainly focused on the underwater world.

The castle... Or rather the ruins of the castle 😊. The incredible view of the whole region from the top. Breathtaking, it's magnificent!

In itself nothing special. A few wall and tower ruins on a rocky hill overgrown with vegetation. But the view over the city, the coast and the mountains is overwhelming. Especially in the evening.

There are pretty viewpoints and the old-fashioned little streets have a lot of charm in the old village, however it's more of a sporty walk than a hike. To get there, you unfortunately have to do most of the circuit on the road, which is quite dangerous because it is not marked out for pedestrians. It's a shame but because of its geographical location it is not possible to do otherwise. NB: It is rated easy, but a good cardio is necessary if you leave the center of the new evenos because it climbs!
