This section of the trail through the forest directly along the shore of Lake Keutschach is a bit more challenging to ride, as it's somewhat winding and undulating on the one hand, and the surface changes rapidly on the other. The trail is generally made up of soft forest floor, but is frequently interspersed with small roots and rocks. Some cycling skill is required for this trail, which offers repeated beautiful views of the lake – but overall, it's a very worthwhile ride.

The municipality of Keutschach am See is located in the natural four-lake valley (Rauschelesee, Keutschacher See, Hafnersee and Baßgeigensee).

With the exception of the north bank, most parts of the lake and its catchment area are located in the Keutschacher Seental landscape protection area

Keutschacher See is located in Carinthia, south of Lake Wörthersee. With an area of 1.32 km², it is the sixth largest of Carinthia's lakes. In 1864, Ferdinand von Hochstetter discovered a Neolithic pile-dwelling settlement here, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011.
