Spectacular to see it frozen and to be able to walk on it

Along the Las Doncellas del Hoyal trail you will find this peculiar heart-shaped lake. There are also great views from this location.

The views from the path are magnificent. In the foreground you can see the town of Vañes and, in the background, the beautiful Requejada reservoir.

The Aguilar reservoir, inaugurated in 1964, plays a crucial role in regulating the Pisuerga River. With a height of 48 meters and a length of half a kilometer, the dam is one of the largest in the area. It is part of a set of three reservoirs and is considered a tourist attraction thanks to the "Ruta de los Pantanos".

From this point you can see the Aguilar de Campoo Reservoir. It is an impressive piece of engineering but it was quite controversial due to its negative consequences for the ecosystem of the area.

Incredible views of the Compuerto hydroelectric dam in the valley of the Carrión river feeding on meltwater and streams from the Sierra de Brezo.
