Nice easy flat ride. Can be busy with walkers and other cyclists, particularly on weekends. Early mornings are the best, with so much birdsong and wildlife. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the Weir, which usually has a row of gulls fishing on it.

I just wish there were even more bridges over the River Taff. Each crossing over has its unique and wonderful views. This one is no exception!

This viaduct was built in three phases which can be recognised quite clearly in the stonework. This bridge was built for the Taff Vale Railway and was designed by I K Brunel. The line was opened from Cardiff to Abercynon in October 1840 and was for only a single standard gauge track.

This weir attracts a multitude of birds in particular in the summer - soaking their feet and enjoying some chat

The weir spans the River Taff, which flows directly through the heart of South Wales. It's a nice place to stop and refuel with picnic benches and a peaceful atmosphere.
