A 'must' stop off point!

When hiking in Hughenden Gardens, make sure to explore the woodlands and visit Hughenden Manor for stunning views and historical insights. Wear sturdy shoes, as some trails can be uneven and muddy after rain.

Nicely positioned on the walk

The War Memorial was put here in 1920. The inscription 'PRO PATRIA' means 'for one's country'. Look to the opposite side of Windsor Lane - 11 trees were planted here, one for each of the fallen. (Keep in mind that more names were added after World War 2.)

This church was renovated in 2015, and it's a lovely one, but it's really what's outside that is quite striking! First of all, there is the Labirynth, which is new and was consecrated in 2023. The reason it's here is because, as the leaflet produced by the church tells me, such mazes with their twists and turns to the centre represented a journed to the New Jerusalem: in short, they are symbols of a pilgrimage. Secondly, in the autumn you will find lots of fungi in the church grounds! - and there is a significant information board provided to tell you what they are. Don't miss this!

Truly gorgeous views from up here - quintessentially English views with the patchwork of woodlands and fields down below. The settlement of Hughenden Valley in the (yes, you guessed it) valley down below looks particularly striking. Worth stopping to marvel, and also adding some photos on Komoot to this spot!

This is a gorgeous Anglican church. It's a Grade II listed one. It is closely associated with the former prime minister Benjamin Disraeli (whose country house Hughenden Manor is right next door), who was buried here (look in the churchyard).
