It is a great experience to stay at the Bothy, on the shores of Loch Fyne. It has several different rooms to choose from. Please note though, although there’s a kettle, there’s no kitchen as such. There is a pub a few meters away though, named the Oystercatcher, providing great food. Fresh seafood as well as other things on the menu. Outside seating area. The entire pub has just been renovated and a new team in the kitchens. Well worth a visit to this stunning area, that few know of. The sunsets can be glorious in the summer. You are able to sit on the beach (a mere few metres from the pub and bothy!), directly on Loch Fyne.

The hotel is situated on the Black Mount Estate, which covers over 90,000 acres of spectacularly rugged Scottish countryside. The Munros include Stob Ghabhar, Stob a' Choire Odhair, Meall a' Bhuird and Creise. The hills of Ben Inverveigh and Meall Tairbh frame the Black Mount and the Bridge of Orchy, and the beautiful Loch Tulla frames the hotel. Located on the breathtaking Isle of Ulva is the tiny hamlet of Craigaig, which features a picturesque old bothy which takes bookings for visitors wishing for a truly unique holiday experience. Cruib Lodge on the northern shore of the Loch Tarbert is a medium sized bothy. It sleeps five in each of the two rooms. There are fireplaces in both rooms which draw well. Bring fuel for the fire with you. It's a rough few miles to get here on not brilliant trails but this means the bothy is never busy and adds to the sense of adventure. If you plan to use the bothy, please leave it in a better condition than when you found it. Take all litter home and consider joining the MBA who maintain these shelters.

Inveroran consists of a hotel with outbuildings. There is also a small shop on the West Highland Way.

The bothy is owned by Miranda the baroness, you can book to stay most of the year and there are other places available on the estate too. It's got good showers as well. Only downside is that it can be quite pricey.

Settlement begins again after a few miles.

Normal access is by forest track from the A83 Arrochar to Inverary road at Forest Enterprise Information Centre NN 269 037 to a car park at Coilessan Glen NN 258 012 where there is a locked gate from where any further vehicle access is prohibited. Foot or cycle access only is permitted from this point to the bothy.
