Managed to cross without issue 4 hours and 10 minutes before low tide. Probably could have got there even earlier

Large car park, free for National Trust members. From here you can easily access the beach or the Costa Path above the cliffs. There are restrooms and a cafe.

Warning: this trail only works at low tide, so we had to turn around and take the inland route via sheep pastures and the small town of Crantock. If you want to walk along the river, you should find out about the tides beforehand and watch out for the appropriate time slot.

No need to wait for the tidal bridge to come clear of the water. Take your hiking boots off and go for it! Feels great but don’t risk it if the water is up to your knees unless you fancy a swim!
