A very good restaurant and hotel in the mountains with excellent Kyrgyz and international cuisine. The hotel has yurt-like rooms (boz üi) and huts in the forest (beshik). Supara with its locations in Kök-Jar set the trend of authentic Kyrgyz cuisine (as opposed to the Uighur cuisine with its lagmans etc.), and still there are not many places in Bishkek that focus on Kyrgyz kitchen.

4530 hm-up is a breathtaking panoramic view of the Tjan Shan Mountains, its glaciers and the capital Bishkek. The path leads through stony and steep terrain, actually easy orientation, there are many cairns as markers, from 4000 HM the air gets thinner, you should take many breaks and always drink sips.

You can camp here 🏕️, stay overnight in the hut, there is always warm food, something to drink and even WiFi. Of course you can drink the mountain water. For us Germans, the prices are ridiculous, you shouldn't expect great service either, with a little patience and friendliness you can get everything you need. Overnight stay €6, food €7-9, sleeping bag €5 as of 2023

An easy hike to the waterfall, to the hut (Racek) a demanding route only with hiking equipment. There and back doable as a day hike.

The Ala Archa National Park is approx. 1 hour's drive south of Bishkek (approx. 40 km) and is an approx. 200 km² high mountain park located in the Kyrgyz Alatau, a sub-mountain of the Tienshan. A small fee has to be paid at the national park entrance and then you can start. It is about 11 km to the alpine camp, where the actual starting point for all hikes is. It is best to go in by taxi 700 som (7 €) car fee and from Bishkek taxi costs about 1200 som (12 €) 2023

Көл-Төр / Озеро Кол-Тор / Köl Tör The lake lies at about 2700 m above sea level and is fed by the glacier behind it. Depending on the weather, the way up is quite easy to walk between April and October. On weekdays, by the way, the chances are not bad to meet no or only a few other hikers.

A wonderful turquoise-coloured lake. The colors change constantly depending on the position of the sun and the clouds. You can hardly get enough.
