Parking, seating, an information board, and a pleasant walk along the canal.

Burton Hall Bridge. Walking from Selby to this point is a very pleasant walk, just over 2.5 miles each way.

Brayton Barff is riddled with wide tracks and overgrown paths, and feels much larger than it looks on the map. A nice place to include on your walk and the only place in miles that has a tiny bit of elevation to it, in an otherwise flat landscape.

Selby Canal is a pleasant walk, and you may see a couple of canal boats pootling by.

Royal Air Force Burn or more simply RAF Burn is a former Royal Air Force satellite station located 5 miles (8 km) south of Selby and 0.5 miles (0.8 km) east of Burn in North Yorkshire, England which opened in 1942 before closing in 1946. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Burn

A former Royal Air Force satellite station that opened in 1942, to close in 1946. Many of the buildings have now been dismantled, but the three runways remain intact and are used by the Burn Gliding Club.

Great views east towards Selby from Brayton Barff. This is a small hill in an otherwise flat landscape, the woodland is managed by the Woodland Trust and covers an underground reservoir owned by Yorkshire Water. You can see Selby Abbey in the town.

The plant's roots swell up to form bulbs or tubers, which are reputedly delicious and can be eaten as a starchy vegetable. Lesser celandine has been used as a potherb in central Europe and the young parts of the plant have been added to salads. All parts of this plant need to be cooked.

Wood sorrel contains oxalic acid, which gives it the sharp flavour. This is perfectly safe when eaten in small quantities and is present in many of our commonly eaten vegetables, but wood sorrel should not be eaten in large amounts.

Watch out for the gliders, also rough surface.
