Tunstall Forest is a managed woodland with a mixture of coniferous plantations, broadleaved belts and heathland. It's managed by Forestry England.

Don't get lost its really easy to get turned around. Make sure you have the appropriate tyres too some of the trails are made up with flint

Nice little lanes, with a few rises and falls towards the river. Not sure about a picnic but pleasant to ride down.

Boasting broadleaved belts, coniferous plantations and regions of heathland that connect Tunstall and Blaxhall Common, Tunstall Forest is a lovely place to explore. The Sandlings Walk long-distance trail passes through the forest, featuring the nightjar on its waymarkers. The forest is a particularly good place to spot this emblematic, ground nesting species.
