Pretty stretch of the River Flit as it flows between Flitwick Moor and Greenfield. The 7.5-mile (11.5km) Flit Valley Way is a great way to explore the peaceful, wildlife-rich Flit Valley.

Ampthill is a historic market town located in Central Bedfordshire that dates back to 1219. There are a number of great cafés, pubs and restaurants to discover including The White Hart and Surtin Café.

I used the Greensands Cycleway/Bridleway to come up to the church to avoid the road route, pretty church and lots of daffodils during the Spring

A beautiful place but very muddy in Autumn. There's a fun bridge to cycle over the boggy areas though.

I’m a bit bias but Ampthill is a lovely Georgian Market Town, and it offers some great places to stop. The friendly Deli on Bedford Street has great Allpress coffee and cake, with seating in Market Square during the warmer months. The Hide on Woburn Street offers great cake and a bike rack, outdoor seating with heaters and the Oakman Inns White Hart is great if you fancy something more substantial.

Ampthill is a picturesque, Georgian, small market town - a great place to stop if you're passing through. The town has various cafes and pubs all with lovely food and drink. The market square is very pretty, there's bike racks and a place to sit and watch the world go by. The Deli next to the square has All-Press coffee if you are a real coffee lover.

Grade I listed country house surrounded by bridleways with its own private gardens, childrens play area, toilets and cafe. Makes a good base to start a ride with ample free parking and great access into the Chiltern Hills via Barton / Pegsdon, a really good place for the non-cycling family to stay behind on a lovely summer day and for you all to have a picnic after you return from a ride. If you're into cyclocross bring some cones in your backpack and use the large grass areas for skills practice. We found an ice cream van accepting card payments too.
