This church is a Grade I listed building. The present look of it dates back to 1774 when it was built of flint rubble and local Totternhoe stone at the cost of £29 7s (this sum meant something quite different back then!). I find the church looking quite unusual - the stone makes it look quite massive and imposing. A great place to stop. There is a bench in the churchyard if you need a proper break.

Bridleway to/from the lovely village of Studham

A flat track, a mixture of hard pack soil with flints causing some hand numbing sections. Apparently a public highway rather than a bridleway

The trail is generally easy going with a big security fence on onside, quite understandable when you realise it is Whipsnade Zoo

Passing along the traffic free Studham Lane you have Whipsnade Zoo to the west. The surface here is tarmac but have the leaves and verges have encroached making it a countryside delight
