East Gallery at Norwich University of the Arts is one of the UK’s leading university galleries and commissioning venues. Located in the heart of Norwich, we are a professional exhibition space dedicated to showcasing innovative and challenging contemporary art and design practice. Building on the legacy of EAST International, we look to bring new, exciting and diverse voices to the region to inspire creativity, in all its forms. We create exhibitions with exceptional artists, designers, academics, and researchers, using our space as a dynamic platform for fresh perspectives and critical conversations. As a university gallery, we recognise our unique role in supporting artists whose work engages with or emerges from research with bold or challenging themes. All our exhibitions are free admission, and are accompanied by a programme of lectures, seminars, workshops and performances.

The Royal Arcade Norwich, beautiful Victorian architecture and Art Nouveau mix. Built and designed by George Skipper, opened in 1899. Eclectic mix of small shops and restaurants.

The only place to get up high for a view over Norwich. Part of the Mousehold Heath Woodland Area to the east of the city, it's an easily accessible and beautiful hike/walk from the city centre. Enjoy views of Norwich Cathedral as you take a well-deserved rest on the well-placed bench.

You can't see that much of the marshes from the road but the woods are very pleasant.

Thorpe Marshes is a diverse habitat situated in Norwich, offering walkers a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The marshes feature reed beds, wet meadows, and open water, which provide a home for a diverse range of bird species such as kingfishers, herons, and terns.

Located on the edge of Norwich, Thorpe Marshes is a wonderful mixture of habitats in a nature reserve managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Close to the River Yare, the area is covered in wildflower marshes and dykes. You may spot dragonfly, damselfly and butterfly here, as well as many waterbirds. Chinese water deer, and smaller Muntjac deer have also taken up residence.

Nice wooded area to walk your dogs, but it can get very wet after rain, especially in the winter. I am looking forward to coming back in the spring/autumn to explore in better weather
