Riverside Park hosts a range of local events, from music concerts to food fairs and funfairs. It also contains a number of pieces of public art including a gnomon sundial, great views back onto the castle and a walk alongside the River Trent.

The Nature Reserve at Farndon is one of very few remaining survivors of the working willow holts that were found in many villages alongside the River Trent. The site at Farndon is particularly important as it houses an internationally-known collection of willows and hybrid species.

The Church of St Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent is a parish church in the Church of England in Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire dedicated to Jesus' companion Mary Magdalene. There has been a church on this site for nearly 1,000 years.

Newark Castle has weathered many historic storms. After the British Civil War, it was deliberately vandalised and as it stands now, partially destroyed, it acts as a reminder of Newark's turbulent history. It was also the scene of the death of King John in 1216. Find out more about King John. This listed 12th century monument is set in beautifully maintained Green Flag winning gardens, with the River Trent flowing beside them. Designed by eminent Victorian landscape architect, H.E. Good market set in the picturesque town of Newark. Nice buildings and lots of stalls selling a wide range of items.

Newark’s market place is overlooked by the Georgian Town Hall. The town has become famous for its six annual antiques fairs, held at Newark County Showground, and thousands of antique hunters from across the world descend on the fair’s 4,000 stalls in search of a bargain.
