The swing bridge over Faversham Creek has been out of action for several years. Kent County Council (KCC) and the local port authority, Peel Ports, have been locked in a dispute over who owns the bridge and who should foot the bill to fix the structure.

Perfectly placed on the English Coastal Path, stopped for a pint and it was cracking. Drawn straight from the barrel behind the bar. Looks to be dog friendly and the food looked and smelt really nice. If you are walking the Coastal Path it can be muddy, the pub has brushes outside to clean off you boots.

The marshes and mudflats around Oare, Oare Creek and the Swale Estuary are important wildlife habitats. The range of bird species here is especially notable. The area is a nature reserve and has SSSI status. The trails around the edge are brilliant to run and the small road to the old Harty Ferry point is quiet which allows nice loops.
