A centre built in celebration of the author and poet, Lewis Carroll, known for writing the world famous "Alice in Wonderland". The centre holds a history on the author, as well as a prominent Alice in Wonderland stained glass window.

Daresbury Tower and Laboratory has pushed the boundaries of modern science. Over 60 years on, it is internationally recognised for world-leading scientific excellence in a diverse variety of fields ranging from nuclear physics to supercomputing.

This was a commercial plantation – effectively a tree factory – planted over 30 years ago. There had been a woodland at Daresbury in the 19th century, but this had mostly been cut down by 1910. The conifer plantation that we see now was planted in 1978. The trees on Keckwick Hill behind Daresbury Firs are not part of the plantation. In this more natural woodland, if trees are cut down it is to let in light for wildflowers and young trees to grow, or to make the woodland safer and easier for the public to use.

The elegant, Grade II-listed Dutton Horse Bridge was built by John Arthur Saner, chief engineer to the Weaver Navigation Trust, in the early 20th century. Spanning a peaceful stretch of the River Weaver, it is one of the earliest examples of a laminated timber structure still standing today.
