This is a lovely trail just across the top of Belper, offering scenic views of the lush surrounding countryside.

Spectacular views over the Derwent Valley and towards Duffield.

The old church was entirely replaced between 1872 and 1874 with a new church in the centre of the village to the designs of the architects Giles and Brookhouse of Derby. The old church was sold by Ault and Spreckley, auctioneers on 7 May 1874.

Located on Hazelwood Road, Duffield Cemetery was built in 1895 and is home to three beautiful Grade 2 listed buildings, The Chapel, The Lodge and The Committee Room.

In 1266 King Henry III destroyed one of England’s largest medieval castles. Today, all that remains of Duffield Castle are the foundations, the view and its stories. The tiny 1 hectare site, nestled within the village of Duffield, Derbyshire is now bounded on all sides by housing and roads, but it is still a place to enjoy, relax in and soak up the history.
