This historic trail follows an ancient military mule track built along the slopes of Monte Scale to guard the Stelvio Pass road. Now fully restored, it winds through mountain pine forests, old fortifications, and spectacular viewpoints over the Braulio Valley. Along the way, you'll encounter the remains of military buildings, an interrupted tunnel, and a natural terrace overlooking the curves of the Stelvio Pass.

Walking along the Sentiero dei Fortini, which connects Premadio to Boscopiano, you'll find a beautiful view of the Bormio basin and the surrounding mountains. At this point, the panorama is further enhanced by the presence of a pine tree twisted by the wind and weather.

The journey here itself seems like a detour to the (worthwhile) end of the world. But there are so many worthwhile hikes possible from here... the 8 euro daily fee for parking is definitely worth it. Or, even better, you can come by bus.

An excellent alp where there is almost everything that makes a hiker's heart so happy. A stop is highly recommended. Open late May to late October. Hot meals. Traditional alpine dishes, cheese from the in-house dairy and dishes from the wood grill every Sunday! 🌟🌟🌟😎

The Alm is not managed. But with 1-2 benches, it's a great place for a break with a view of the Ortler group. We saw cows and horses on the alp.

Best bacon dumpling soup and great view. Often my first stop. Sometimes there is also a barbecue. From here you can easily return to the Jägersee and from there on the other side above the valley to the Weißbrunnsee. On the tour you have a beautiful view of the Weißbrunnsee and over the Ultental
