The church has an octagonal floor plan, which is interesting in itself. The bell of the church used to be in the top - now it is outside on a separate frame. The altar panel is a cast of Thorvaldsen's 'Christ' (the original is in Jungshovet Church).

A small spire once supported the church's bell, which is now housed in a frame outside the church. The altarpiece is a cast of Thorvaldsen's "Christ." Nyord is approximately 5 km2 and consists of approximately 120 hectares of moraine soil on which Nyord Town and the farmland are located. The island also consists of 400 hectares of saltwater meadows, which are flooded with salt water every winter and grazed in summer. The meadows are very rich in plant and bird life and are considered to be one of the best habitats for waders and swimming birds in Denmark. Bird life can be observed from the bird tower on the road in the middle of the meadows. You can also visit the Hyldevang Nature Center, Nyord's only moving farm, now owned by Skov and the Danish Nature Agency.
