What is called 'Wormelaar park'. This is where the adventure begins. You arrive in the source area of the 'Molenbeek' and the 'Kleempoelbeek', it can be swampy. Don't be put off as there are many idyllic spots.

This lane is very old. The Counts' Castle is depicted for the first time in Jacob Harrewijn's etching (1694). The water castle is currently accessible via a lane from Warandestraat, but the main access with a long, straight and double floating structure departs from the Brussels-Rupel canal. This canal, formerly known as Bruesselsche Schipvaert or Willebroekse Vaart, was dug between 1553 and 1561. This wide avenue between the canal and the castle complex does not end at the bridge and the gatehouse, but for an unknown reason just next to it. (Immovable Heritage Inventory)

Here along the Brussels-Scheldt Sea Canal you can quietly walk and cycle in a green environment. Immediately next to you is the 's Gravenbos and on the other side of the canal is the Bos van AA.
