Riederfurka에서는 그로스 아레치 빙하(Grosser Aletschgletscher)가 보이는 광활한 고원 지대를 만날 수 있습니다. 이곳은 자연과 역사를 위한 특별한 장소이기도 합니다. 이곳에는 프로 나투라 센터(Pro Natura Zentrum)가 있는 인상적인 카셀 빌라(Villa Cassel)가 있습니다.

Aletsch Arena에서의 투어를 위한 중심 출발점입니다. 이곳에서 다양한 하이킹 트레일과 전망대까지 빠르게 이동할 수 있습니다. 동시에 역 주변에서 식사할 곳을 찾을 수 있어, 중간 휴식이나 투어 마무리 장소로 이상적입니다.

John Tyndall was born on August 2nd, 1820 in Leighlin-Bridge (Ireland). He came from humble beginnings and first learned the profession of surveyor, then as a surveying engineer in railway construction and at the age of 27 he became a mathematics teacher at Queenswood College. Between 1848 and 1850 he studied mathematics, chemistry and physics at the university in Marburg (Germany) and obtained his doctorate in 1850. Between 1877 and 1893 Tyndall spent the summer months with his wife Louisa Charlotte in the Alp Lusgen villa he built on the Belalp. In 1887 he was awarded honorary citizenship by the municipality of Naters. At the same time as he was appointed honorary citizen of Naters, John Tyndall retired.
