The official hiking trail ends in the forest. In March 2025, it was still passable towards the Bodden lagoon, requiring a crossing of the ditch at the end. After the winter of 2026, in March the drainage ditches in the forest were quite full, and there was a lot of mud alongside them. I turned back.

A beach access point that is also easily usable for people with visual or walking disabilities.

The path is a dream for cyclists heading to the west beach. Hikers who find e-bikes too strenuous can take the narrow path parallel to the beach, which is a particularly nice alternative in summer (it's right next to it).

A cormorant colony can be observed in the bare trees.

All cormorants are diurnal and only enter the water to forage for food. Unlike many other waterbirds, they do not rest on the water, but always on land. Here they seek out elevated places such as rocks, branches, or fenceposts, and coastal species often also ledges in steep cliffs. Some species also rest in trees or high-voltage power lines. Over there, the diurnal birds sit and rest; at night, the trees surrounding the lake become their roosting place. While the cormorants are as black as night, the trees, their branches, and the immediate area around the water appear completely whitewashed, one might think. However, this is, of course, due to the birds' droppings. The contrast is a bizarre sight, even from afar.

A great, natural, wild forest. Please note: the path actually ends after a short stretch and is no longer maintained after that. The direction of the Bodden is barely visible. It is easy to get lost here. GPS is very helpful here
