According to the information panel: This wayside shrine, erected here in 2018, is an important listed monument and a testament to the history of transportation. It was originally built on the opposite side of the street in the first half of the 19th century. There, it was located below street level, in poor condition, and difficult to access. Thanks to funding from the Weinböhla Local History Trail Association and the Historical Weinböhla Winery Association, it was salvaged, restored, and re-erected in its current, secure location. The directional arrows point towards Weinböhla, as well as Bärwalde and Steinbach.

At that time, Kreyern was a part of Coswig and consisted of three houses and a chapel. In 1542, Elector Moritz wanted to expand his hunting grounds and incorporate Kreyern into them. This event gave rise to the legend of Karras. The knights sold the forester's lodge to Elector August and withdrew from Coswig. Since the 17th century, the house has been used as a forestry office. From 2002 to 2005, the Kreyern forester's lodge underwent extensive renovations and is now the headquarters of the Moritzburg Forestry Office.
