Also known as 'The Breeches', Crohy Head Sea Arch is actually three arches. The one that is visible from the clifftop and most photographed is Bristi Sea Stack. It is a truly incredible sight and one of Donegal's best coastal destinations.

A quiet road passes right along the rocky foreshore, making rockpooling a tempting distraction when the tide is out. You can see Rutland Island across the bay.

The railway once linked Burtonport with Letterkenny but closed in 1940. It has been transformed into a traffic free trail full to the brim with echos of its history, with bridges, gates, cuttings and gatehouses all still visible.

The harbour is an important ferry terminal for visiting Aranmore Island (Árainn Móir),Inishfree Island (Inis Fraoigh), and Rutland Island (Inis Mhic a Doirín). In fact the village was named after the local landowner, Burton Conyngham, who built a pier here to sail over to Rutland Island and it became simply 'Burton's Port'. It is a great place to stop for fish and chips or a coffee and there are public toilets at the end of the harbour wall.
