Spili is not only the village with its famous lion fountain, spices, and cloth weaving mills, but also the village of vines. Because you'll find magnificent old vines with enormous grapevines everywhere in the village. 😉

A beautiful little village church, which requires a steep climb to reach. I can't say whether the interior is worth a visit; unfortunately, the doors were locked.

The fountain itself is very beautiful and offers the best spring water, which you can even fill directly into bottles. Legend has it that if you drink water from all the snapdragons in one day, you'll live to be over 100 years old. 😉😎 There are also many taverns and souvenir shops near the fountain, and accordingly, many tourists. So it's always very busy. If you want to enjoy it in peace, you should go there early in the morning or in the evening. 😉

Beautiful arcades in the monastery courtyard. They provide shade and are beautifully planted.

A lovely loop from Spili that allows you to discover the surrounding nature. The first 8 kilometers are of interest: panoramic viewpoint over the valley, access to two gorges, encounters with birds of prey, wandering among the goats, a significant part via paths or quiet roads. The last part is much less interesting: access to a plain, walking along a road frequented by cars, several of which are tired with poor visibility.

The Arkadi Monastery is truly worth seeing. Admission costs 4 euros.
