A railway underpass accessible via unpaved paths serves as a clever connecting route between the areas near Aalkistenweg and the less frequented forest areas beyond the railway tracks.

Just a few kilometers west of Maulbronn Monastery lies the Elfinger Hof estate, one of the monastery's first granges. Together with the neighboring vineyard, it was among the monastery's most important economic holdings. Elfinger Hof encompassed 130 to 150 hectares, and as an estate, it was described as 190 hectares in 1870 by the Maulbronn district office (see Hachenberger 1990). The estate's layout is depicted on the Württemberg cadastral map of 1835. To the west of the estate and north of Elfinger Lake, there was another pond. The updated cadastral map of 1891 shows a garden and a path leading to the drained Elfinger Lake to the south of the estate.

The monastery wine press located in the vineyards can be rented for events, be it a wedding, a private celebration or a business event.

The current church dates from 1872. It stands on the same plot of land where the smaller church, known as the "temple," once stood, just a few meters further from the road. Construction of this first church began in 1714, and after considerable difficulties, it was completed in 1721. It wasn't until 1737 that it could be consecrated, along with its bells. Until 1828, Pastor Daniel Mondon preached in French in this church, as he—who was also the pastor of Großvillars—did not speak German.

Former town hall built in 1770 with half-timbering, which now contains a wine bar and holiday apartments in the annex.
