Hiking trails R2 and R3 meet here, and they are easily accessible by bike to the scenic bathing area. There, you'll find a small but pleasant lawn and a lovely wooden jetty. A gently sloping pebble beach leads into the lake.

The Leonhardi Church has always been a pilgrimage church. This is also where the tradition of the Leonhardi Ride originated, where horses in particular are blessed. November 6th is the patron saint's day of Saint Leonhard and on this day Leonhardi Rides take place all over the Murnau region. This is a colorful horse procession that is unparalleled.

Next time I would plan the tour the other way round, it was very hot on the west side in the afternoon and there was hardly any shade there. A very nice hike with many beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding area.
